Overview
We’re looking for a focused and experienced Software Developer to help maintain and evolve a mature, math- and data-intensive Windows application built on .NET Framework 4.8. The current product is a Windows client backed by a cloud-hosted SQL Server database (AWS), and we’re planning a strategic migration to a future web-based architecture. This role requires deep C# expertise, an eye for performance, and strong software engineering fundamentals—not a jack-of-all-trades, but a disciplined practitioner.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance a .NET Framework 4.8 WinForms desktop application.
- Windows Communication Foundation.
- Optimize performance of MS SQL Server database.
- Hosting services on AWS.
- Ensure software meets GDPR compliance and cybersecurity best practices.
- Design and implement modern authentication approaches (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, etc.).
- Lead architectural planning and migration strategy for a future web-based application.
- Build or extend a CI/CD pipeline to improve testing and delivery workflows.
- Develop and maintain reusable code modules serving similar workflows across multiple user types.
- Produce clear, high-quality graphical outputs and data visualizations.
- Apply A/B testing and user feedback mechanisms to simplify and refine user workflows.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools to improve developer productivity.
- Utilize OpenCV or similar tools for image processing tasks as needed.
- Experience in Material UI, React or similar providing a modern web app experience.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
- Proficient in building Windows desktop applications using WinForms.
- Skilled in SQL Server development, performance tuning, and cloud-based deployments (preferably on AWS).
- Familiar with security compliance standards such as GDPR and secure coding practices.
- Experience with modern identity and access management (OAuth2, SSO, etc.).
- Strong architectural thinking, with experience planning migrations or long-term application transitions.
- Exposure to CI/CD tooling and implementation strategies.
- Comfortable analyzing and visualizing numerical data with graphical accuracy.
- Familiarity with OpenCV or similar image processing tools.
- Clear, pragmatic communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
