How Can We Help?
Pantone: Compatibility with SpectroDens and ChromaQA
Can I measure Pantone colors with the SpectroDens?
The SpectroDens also has the capability to compare spot colors to a Pantone target. This is made possible by downloading the Pantone colors directly to the instrument. This allows the SpectroDens to perform real-time deltaE color comparisons, helping press operators and quality control technicians ensure that printed colors match brand and customer expectations.
Any CxF file containing a library of colors can be downloaded directly to the instrument for real-time deltaE color comparisons. The all-in-one SpectroDens 4, which combines the functionality of a spectrophotometer and a densitometer, allows users to control process, spot, or Pantone ® colors. The SpectroDens 4 does so by measuring solid ink density, % dot area, CIE Lab, deltaE, and more.
What is PantoneLIVE?
PantoneLIVE is a cloud-based system that enables the digital communication of Pantone color standards.
Can the SpectroDens support PantoneLIVE?
In addition to supporting direct Pantone color libraries, the SpectroDens 4 is also compatible with PantoneLIVE. If you require access to PantoneLIVE colors on your SpectroDens, this is also supported but requires the purchase of a PantoneLIVE license for your SpectroDens. Users are able to utilize the deltaE feature of the SpectroDens to measure a color swatch and then compare it to the Pantone color library.
The PantoneLIVE license for SpectroDens is only available directly from X-Rite.
Can ChromaQA support PantoneLIVE?
For more advanced print workflows, ChromaQA, Techkon’s cloud-based color quality solution, also supports PantoneLIVE. ChromaQA serves as the hub that connects the entire print production workflow. Now, ChromaQA offers seamless connectivity and access to PantoneLIVE.
What is the meaning of Pantone?
Pantone is a system used for standardized color matching in industries such as graphic design and printing.
In summary, the SpectroDens 4 offers complete support for measuring Pantone colors, either through downloadable CxF libraries or via PantoneLIVE with the appropriate license, making it a versatile tool for ensuring color accuracy in modern print environments.
