The guide covers the following G7 certification printing related topics:

What is G7 certification printing?

G7 certification printing is a specification for gray scale appearance and applicable to any CMYK printing process.

What does it mean to be G7 Certified?

When G7 certification is used across multiple systems, each can produce a result that is visually similar to the others, even if they are completely different print processes. This is referred to as common visual appearance, and was hard to accomplish prior to G7. This means, when G7 certified, a printer holds a high level of control when it comes to color management across different devices.

What is the difference between G7 and GRACoL?

G7 is a specification to describe gray balance, tonality, and calibration method. GRACol is a reference point condition for sheetfed and offset printing, which is based on G7. For more information about the differences between G7 and GRACol, download The Printer’s Guide to G7.
