Puede llamarlo \u201cSCTV\u201d, \u201cValor Tonal de Color Directo\u201d o \u201cISO 20654\u201d. Pero independientemente de c\u00f3mo lo llame, se trata de un tema que ha generado mucha expectaci\u00f3n en nuestro sector durante los \u00faltimos meses. Sin embargo, a pesar de toda esta repercusi\u00f3n y cobertura medi\u00e1tica, todav\u00eda parece haber muchas dudas sobre qu\u00e9 es y c\u00f3mo puede beneficiar a los impresores. Por eso, aqu\u00ed tiene una explicaci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida que, esperamos, desmitifique el SCTV y explique por qu\u00e9 podr\u00eda interesarle utilizarlo en su entorno de producci\u00f3n. <\/p>\n

Empecemos por el principio, entendiendo qu\u00e9 hace exactamente. Dicho de forma sencilla, el SCTV es una nueva f\u00f3rmula que permite calcular el valor tonal o el porcentaje de punto de cualquier tinta de color directo. Ya s\u00e9\u2026 ya s\u00e9\u2026 probablemente se est\u00e9 preguntando por qu\u00e9 hace falta otra f\u00f3rmula cuando su densit\u00f3metro o espectrofot\u00f3metro actual ya parece realizar esta tarea. Sin embargo, hay una excelente raz\u00f3n para ello.<\/p>\n

Los densit\u00f3metros tradicionales y los espectrofot\u00f3metros de sala de prensa utilizan filtros de cian, magenta o amarillo (o simulaciones de filtros) para determinar con precisi\u00f3n la densidad de las tintas C, M, Y y K. Adem\u00e1s, para determinar el \u00e1rea de punto o los valores tonales, emplean una f\u00f3rmula, normalmente la de Murray-Davies, dise\u00f1ada en torno a las densidades medidas de C, M, Y y K en parches de tinta plana. Hasta aqu\u00ed, todo funciona perfectamente mientras se midan tintas C, M, Y y K. <\/p>\n

Sin embargo, cuando se intenta medir la densidad o el valor tonal de un color que no es C, M, Y ni K, este sistema deja de funcionar y ya no puede ofrecer densidades precisas y, por tanto, tampoco mediciones de valor tonal fiables. Esto se debe a que la f\u00f3rmula de Murray-Davies se basa \u00fanicamente en filtros C, M e Y, y lo que se est\u00e1 midiendo ahora no es tinta C, M, Y ni K. Por ejemplo, intente medir un color directo verde y observe qu\u00e9 filtro intenta usar su instrumento para el c\u00e1lculo de densidad. Dependiendo del tono de su \u201cverde\u201d, a veces utilizar\u00e1 el filtro cian y otras veces el filtro amarillo. El problema es que la selecci\u00f3n de este filtro afecta en gran medida a los valores de densidad resultantes y, por consiguiente, tambi\u00e9n a los valores tonales obtenidos. Esta naturaleza impredecible al medir colores directos supone un gran problema y hace que sea casi imposible configurar correctamente las curvas tonales cuando los propios valores medidos son impredecibles. <\/p>\n

Y aqu\u00ed es donde entra en juego la nueva f\u00f3rmula SCTV. Se basa en mediciones de color y no en valores de densidad. Por este motivo, los densit\u00f3metros nunca podr\u00e1n calcular mediciones SCTV, y es necesario un espectrofot\u00f3metro como el Techkon SpectroDens. Al igual que ocurre con el c\u00e1lculo de valores tonales para C, M, Y y K, las mediciones de color del sustrato, el s\u00f3lido y el parche de tinta plana son necesarias para los c\u00e1lculos SCTV. Para realizar mediciones SCTV, los usuarios simplemente cambian el modo en su instrumento y comienzan a tomar mediciones de la misma forma que siempre lo han hecho. <\/p>\n

As\u00ed que, si le interesa conseguir mediciones de valor tonal precisas y consistentes para cualquier color directo, pruebe a utilizar el ajuste SCTV en su espectrofot\u00f3metro de sala de prensa. Esto deber\u00eda permitirle crear curvas tonales visualmente m\u00e1s lineales para los colores directos y mejorar notablemente su previsibilidad en la m\u00e1quina de impresi\u00f3n.
