pyrometer

pyrometer (In French pyromètre) contactless temperature measuring device which does not measure the thermal radiation but, from a distance, compares the luminescent color of the glowing mass with the brightness of a special bulb, so that the actual temperature can be read off on a calibrated galvanometer scale.
